I started making these bunting pennants to use up my fabric scraps, but I was soon hooked! This Workshop is your opportunity to join me in discovering this fun way to be creative and try out colour, fabric, and embellishment combinations that you wouldn’t normally think to mix, all without it costing the earth.

The cost of the Workshop is £50 inclusive of all materials - that's less than £10 an hour when you factor in the complimentary lunch and beverages. A deposit of £20 - payable at registration - secures your place. The £30 balance of the registration fee is payable by Friday 11 April 2025. Payments are refundable if you need to cancel, provided you give at least 48 hours advance notice.​​

We’ll have all the fabric you need, but you’re welcome to bring your own scraps too! Be ready to step outside your comfort zone, because if your choices are a bit too safe, the group might just give you the side-eye!

Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced sewer, you'll have the opportunity to create a pennant shape of your choice that you can hang as a unique piece of textile art or add to and create a stunning indoor bunting display.

You'll sew the whole pennant by hand (slow stitching) using variations of just 3 basic stitches: running stitch, chain stitch, and French knots (scary, but actually really easy once you know the trick). One of the joys of this form of slow stitching - which makes it ideal for beginners - lies in embracing and celebrating the natural imperfections, as you can see from my samples! So no need to worry about stitch sizes and straight lines, just go for it.
